AXIS VIDEO SURVEILLANCE

Versatech specializes in high-definition IP video solutions from Axis Communications. Axis produced the first digital network camera in 1996 and has been the industry leader ever since, manufacturing the world’s broadest and most technically advanced range of digital security cameras. Axis became a subsidiary of Canon Inc. in 2015, a company renowned for producing advanced optics and digital imaging technology for nearly a century. Canon’s acquisition assures that Axis will remain a strong industry leader for decades to come. Axis backs up their commitment to quality with a 5 year warranty on all their products.

Versatech installs the complete line of Axis products including pan-tilt-zoom, infrared, and thermal imaging cameras, video analytic and radar detection systems, video server and storage products, and remote connectivity and monitoring solutions.  Network Camera Overview - Whatever security challenge you may face, you’ll find an Axis network camera to suit your needs. You may also find the “product selector tool” handy for searching out Axis products based on their function or specifications.

Video Management Software - Axis offers two software platforms to meet different needs. “Axis Camera Companion” is a simple, free software application often used in systems with 8 or fewer cameras. It is typically paired with the S3008 Recorder which includes an integrated POE switch and 2, 4 or 8 TB storage drive.

Access Camera Station (ACS) is the perfect solution for large scale systems or those who regularly need to search through large amounts of recorded video. ACS provides advanced features such as Smart Search and Video Redaction in an easy to use interface (see videos below for details). ACS comes preloaded on Axis network video recorders, or can be purchased as a software license for Windows PCs and servers. Both the Companion and ACS platforms come with a free app for remote connection using iOS or Android devices.

Network Video Recorders - Axis produces dedicated video recording hardware in three tiers. The Axis S3008 recorder is an affordable all-in-one network storage drive and POE switch typically used with the Axis Companion software platform, while the full featured Axis Camera Station software is designed to run on the larger S22 all-in-one recorders for 8 to 24 cameras, or the S12 series video servers for systems with 16 to 96 cameras. For larger systems multiple servers can be installed at one site, or across multiple locations and easily accessed with the free ACS workstation software application.

Video Analytics - Axis video analytic applications are typically used to detect activity within a camera’s field of view. Axis Object Analytics is a suite of software applications included for free with many Axis cameras. By classifying objects in the camera’s view as humans, bicycles, cars, etc. and using directional analysis the application can be programmed to create alerts when specific activity occurs, greatly reducing false alarms and allowing detection in complex scenes. Other analytics available from Axis include License Plate Recognition, People Counting, Loitering Detection and more. Watch the videos below to see Axis’ video analytics at work.

Panoramic Cameras  feature multiple high-definition cameras encapsulated in a single housing to provide cost effective, wide-angle coverage across 180° or 360° fields of view. These cameras are excellent for outside corners, long range wall views, parking garages, warehouses, and many other applications.

PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom ) Cameras are typically used for live viewing by security staff to record potential security incidents in real-time. PTZ cameras can be remotely controlled to point in any direction to follow suspicious activity as it unfolds. They have powerful lenses with up to 40X zoom to capture details such as faces and license plates, even from a great distance. If a guard is dispatched to intercept a suspect the security station can watch the interaction and determine if backup is required. If the worst scenario arises and there is a physical interaction between the suspects and guard, there will be detailed video evidence to provide to police.

Thermal Imaging cameras are no longer limited to high end military applications now that affordable solutions such as the Axis Q1941-E thermal network camera have become available. Thermal imaging offers advanced detection capabilities in challenging conditions. The technology is also ideal for situations where people need to be protected while maintaining their privacy, such as in care homes and hospitals.

Security Audio devices can be used to trigger an audio warning to deter intruders or provide two-way audio to warn off vandals before damage is done.

Radar Detection is another technology once used exclusively by military and government institutions which was brought into the mainstream by Axis in 2017.

Body Worn Solutions are the latest product to be taken from the exclusive world of law enforcement and military into the reach of small businesses and private security firms. These products can be used for evidence gathering, training purposes, or simply to act as an unbiased witness of events and interactions.  See below for a full webinar on Axis body worn cameras that details the product line and how it can be used in real world applications.
